Established in 2007, harvest is all about the new crop — of writers, poets and artists. It’s about providing structures for young and emerging writers to cultivate their skills. It’s about getting people from different mediums working together, getting their creative skills flowing, getting new ideas happening.

harvest is a Melbourne-based sometimes-quarterly magazine for writers and readers. It publishes fiction, non-fiction, poetry and art from writers and artists around Australia, and the rest of the world.

harvest magazine is based on the premise that writing is a craft, and our editors work closely with contributors to help them develop their work. Our partnerships are designed to help deliver the best new literary works and build a network of creative connections.

Young and emerging artists are underrepresented in community debate, and we want to change that. harvest provides a forum outside of mainstream political and media culture where new ideas can be expressed. It’s a platform for words and art to meet and match-up.

harvest welcomes the work of all writers and artists. The role of harvest magazine is to showcase the best of that work.
